Website analytics & privacy

This page explains the usage analytics on get-it.uk, including WebTality (the pages under get-it.uk/webtality/). It covers analytics only. How we handle information you send us in a form, an email or a WebTality request is set out in our privacy notice and the WebTality terms.

What we record

• A temporary visit ID. A random identifier created in your browser and kept in session storage, so it ends when you close the tab. It is not used to recognise you on a later visit. The same ID is used across the main site and WebTality, so one visit reads as one journey.
• Pages and navigation. Which pages are viewed, in what order, and the previous page on this site.
• Key actions. Clicks on service, consultation, secure-portal and WebTality links; that an email or phone link was clicked (not the address or number); and form milestones — a form was shown, started, or successfully sent. On WebTality, scan and report steps are recorded in the same way.
• Coarse engagement. Whether you scrolled past a quarter, half, three-quarters or most of a page, and whether the page was open in the foreground for 30 seconds or 2 minutes.
• Where the visit came from. Any UTM campaign parameters in the link you arrived on, and the hostname only of the referring site (for example, google.com — never the full address).
• Device type. Mobile, tablet or desktop, worked out from screen width.

What we never record in analytics

• Anything you type into a form, your name, your email address or phone number, or the domain you ask WebTality to scan.
• Full referring URLs, your IP address, or your country, region or precise location. We do not collect location at all at present.
• No advertising or cross-site tracking: no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook pixel, no advertising cookies, no browser fingerprinting and no session replay. The data is not used for advertising profiling and is never sold or shared for advertising.

Who holds it and for how long

Events are sent only to GET-IT Solutions Ltd's own service on Amazon Web Services (London region). Raw analytics events are set to expire after 14 days and are removed automatically shortly afterwards. The purpose is to understand which pages and steps work and to improve the site and WebTality.

Security and abuse protection (separate from analytics)

To protect our forms, scanner and analytics endpoint from abuse, our service keeps short-lived per-IP-address request counters so it can apply daily rate limits. These are set to expire after about two days, are never written into the analytics records, and are not used to analyse how you use the site. Like any website, our hosting infrastructure also processes IP addresses in order to deliver pages to you.

Requests to exercise those rights go to the address given there.

Opting out

The choice is stored in your browser's local storage as webtality_analytics_optout, so clearing site data resets it. You can also email contact@get-it.uk with any question about this page.
